Cyber Monday is here, and it's one of the best times of year to shop for normally pricey items like KitchenAid stand mixers and Vitamix blenders. To help you with your search, we're tracking kitchen sales at major retailers like Amazon, Target, and Walmart.  

In our guide to the best blenders, the Vitamix 5200 was chosen as our favorite overall blender. A Vitamix blender is an investment, but it can do almost anything. We've tested and recommended several other brands of blenders that work perfectly well, but we're always glad to return to the Vitamix.

We've tested over a dozen blenders, and Vitamix is consistently at the top of our list. The Vitamix 5200 blender is our top choice for basic smoothies, gravies, flours, and nut butter. It's easy to clean and durable — we haven't broken one yet. All Vitamix blenders have steady, high-powered motors and ingeniously designed jars.

What features should you look out for when buying a Vitamix during Cyber Monday?

Consider how often and for what tasks you intend to use your blender. For the occasional smoothie or frozen cocktail, you don't need something high-powered like the Vitamix 5200. A smaller blender with a lower wattage will do the trick. However, if you're planning on making nut butter or a daily protein smoothie, a stronger motor will work faster and last longer. Plus, smart features — like those on the Vitamix A3300 Ascent — might be helpful.

Denver PD said genetic genealogy and DNA analysis helped them identify the serial killer. He had died by suicide in jail in 1981. DNA from his exhumed body matched evidence from the murders. Police in Colorado have cracked the code on four murder cases that went unsolved for 40 years, using DNA from the killer's exhumed body. The cases pertain to four women killed in the Denver metro area between 1978 and 1981. They were 33-year-old Madeleine Furey-Livaudais, 53-year-old Dolores Barajas, 27-year-old Gwendolyn Harris, and 17-year-old Antoinette Parks. The four women were stabbed to death. Denver Police Commander Matt Clark said in a press conference Friday that there was an "underlying sexual component" to the murders but didn't elaborate further.
