But not before one Reddit user got quite a surprise: Amazon's picture-proof alert for his delivery captured his package in mid-air, flying toward his front door.  That's quite a toss, to be honest, and even better photo-capturing skills. The Intercontinental Exchange’s (ICE) cryptocurrency project  Bakkt celebrated New Year’s Eve with the announcement of a $182.5 million equity round from a slew of notable institutional investors. ICE, the operator of several global exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange, established Bakkt to build a trading platform that enables consumers and institutions to buy, sell, store and spend digital assets. This is Bakkt’s first institutional funding round; it was not a token sale. Participating in the round are Horizons Ventures, Microsoft’s venture capital arm (M12), Pantera Capital, Naspers’ fintech arm (PayU), Protocol Ventures, Boston Consulting Group, CMT Digital, Eagle Seven, Galaxy Digital, Goldfinch Partners and more. The year's tallest skyscrapers include a number of luxury towers around the world. The structures feature notable design elements like helipads, sky gardens, and an indoor skating rink.  2018's tallest building, the Citic Tower in Beijing, draws inspiration from an ancient wine vessel.  This was a landmark year for new construction, with more than 140 skyscrapers  erected across the globe. The number falls short of 2017's total, but represents the second-highest tally ever recorded, according to data from the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) .  The vast majority of tall buildings completed in 2018 are located in China, which underwent a major construction boom , producing more skyscrapers than anywhere else in the world. The nation is now home to half of the world's 100 tallest skyscrapers, including the Citic Tower, a mammoth structure that tops out at more than 1,700 feet. Netflix's new horror movie Bird Box has taken the internet by storm, which is a little surprising considering horror is really not for everyone. It's especially not for us, two scaredy-cats who do not like to watch horror movies for the simple fact that we don't like to be scared.  But with so much fervor swirling around Bird Box ( over 45 million users have watched so far), we decided to give in to the hype for the sake of all the other wimps out there and see if Bird Box is actually too spooky.
